請幫我翻譯成英文(Leo Lionni’s life)

Leo Lionni’s life reflects the uprootedness of many mid-twentieth century Europeans who settle in a number of places before establishing a professional or creative life. He was an important conduit at a time when an alliance was being forged between European graphic design, with its cultural and philosophical roots, and the progressive

Pragmatism of American business, which was seeking a sophisticated aesthetic identity.

Born in Amsterdam to a half-jewish Italian family, Lionni studied economics in Genoa and Zurish before moving to his preferred field of art and design. He first became a commercial designer in Milan, working for the food company Motta as an art director between 1933 and 1935. Mussolini’s threats to jews made it necessary for Lionni to emigrate to the United States in 1939, and he settle in Philadelphila. After finding work with the advertising agency N.W. Ayer & Co. he was soon at the heart of American modernism design. One of his first commission was to design press advertising for the Container Corporation of America (CCA), which was already associated with modernism through employing design such as Moholy-Nagy, Bayer and Matter. For this client Lionni made a series of photomontages which revealed his indebtedness to the Bauhaus.
