Contrary to my previous diatribe regarding seniors on buses - which was somewhat true based on my experiences and thoughts - I yield my seat to seniors and nursing mothers. I'm not totally clean, however, as I feel yielding my seat to a senior keeps them out of my way so I can get off. The whole situation is something I accept b/c I'm going to be old someday and there will be times when I am a clog in the plumbing myself. Plus most seniors have paid thier life dues, and need to be shown a reasonable level of respect. I can listen to your life story only three times maximum.

It depends on how tired I'm feeling. It also depends on how shaky and weak the elderly man or woman looks. If they're one of those tough 80 year olds who go for a five mile run every morning, nah.

If my legs hurt a lot, I'm not giving up my seat to ANYONE.

Yes. In addition, I will give my seat to the following people.

    Carrying lots of stuff

With a baby in their arms

Holding the hand of a small child

    On crutches

Someone I saw running to catch the bus

Mermaids (hard to stand with flippers)

Yes, plus on most buses it's the law to give up certain seats anyway.

I love it when someone gives me their seat - I am an elderly person. It warms the cockles of my heart.

Where I live the bus driver will make you move if you are rude enough to not offer your seat.

Yes. I believe in karma and I hope some young person will do the same for me when I get old.
