Ever since I got Windows Vista my Ipod Shuffle wont sync, what can I do?
The error message I get is this
The Ipod "Administrators Ipod" cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found.
I already ensured that my software is fully update and that they Ipod is fully charged. When I plug in my ipod, the computer does acknowledge that it is there.
I just can't get any music on to my Ipod, which is annoying since I actually decided to start paying for my music and now have $20 worth of new music I can't get onto my Ipod. In fact there is no music on my Ipod at the momennt.
As mentioned in my question I have Windows Vista that came with my new laptop, since all problems I have revolves around having Vista I am guessing this is the issue.
So any idea how I can get music on to my Shuffle?

I recently got Windows Vista and my Ipod is doing fine.
Try resetting it.

I had the same issue with my Sansa.
It simply wouldn't sync with my Vista.
What it ended up being was that for some reason, the normal USB device I used to hook it up to the computer, just wasn't recognized by the software.
I had bought a Sansa docking device a few months before; I tried syncing it with this and it worked perfectly.
You might have the same problem so try try a different manner of syncing.
But I could have sworn I saw something about a download needed on the Vista.
I'll keep looking and then edit if I find something.
Edit 1:
Try this; found it on the Apple Support forums.

Hi,
Hello Folks, I have experienced countless errors with my ipod shuffle, and for a while I thought about ditching it altogether. Finally I found the solution. And this solution ALWAYS works for me (Worked on three of my shuffles so far):
*Note - You MUST follow the steps in order!!
1. Disconnect the iPod from the computer.
2.Then go to "start> right click my computer>
manage> services and applications> services> click iPod service> click stop service."
3.Then connect the ipod and it should show up in my computer. Format it so all content is gone.
4.Next, go back to "start> right click my computer>manage> services and applications> services> click iPod service> click Start service."
5.This should have the service running again. Open iTunes and connect the shuffle.
6.When it says to automatically fill it (the window that pops up) dont unclick it,
7.proceed so the shuffle autofills. Before it stops, quickly go to the settings tab.
8.Then, scroll down to where it says "enable disk use".
9.select that and hit apply. Now, you manually eject the iPod and you can manage your music!
I had the same problem and several others as you and this eliminated the problem! I hope that helped. Can't take credit for this one. Someone else posted this a while back, but it works.

Press the middle circle button and the menu button at the same time for about 10 seconds. It should reset. Then try to sync it again
