what is the different between server and desktop processors and motherboard?

    Server stuff is usually more powerful. Thats because it has to do alot more then a desktop computer. Most server boards have different style of ram, (EEC) and can hold more ram. But beside that, there really isnt much of a difference. The core of the CPU's and motherboards are the same. Its just how they are being used. There are also other features in a server board and CPU then a desktop. for example, you can get a CPU that is built for doing Virtual Servers and motherboards with built in VMWare ESX server.
