John F. Kennedy, a DEMOCRAT, was sworn in as the 35th President of THE United States of America, at noon on January 20, 1961. In his inaugural address he spoke of the NEED for ALL Americans to be ACTIVE CITIZENS, famously saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."
Please NOTICE that it said DEMOCRAT - NOT Socialist and / or Communist Democrat !!
It means this country is only as strong as the people in it. It means get off your a$$ and do something!!!
Unfortunately for Democrats ... they have to recognize that since the 73rd Congress in 1933, for a majority of the last 65 years, Democratic Houses of Representatives and Democratic Senates have CONTROLLED the nation and the President. A TOTAL of 38 Sessions with Democrats in CONTROL for 28 of those!
WE need to inform/TELL our political representatives that WE NEED TO PASS a Constitutional Amendment for the LINE ITEM VETO.
This will keep the SPECIAL INTEREST GARBAGE from being attached to valuable legislation.
The President was briefly granted this power by the Line Item Veto Act of 1996, passed by Congress in order to control "pork barrel spending" that favors a particular region rather than the nation as a whole. The line-item veto was used 11 times to strike 82 items from the federal budget by President Bill Clinton.
If Congress wants to give the president that power, they will have to pass a constitutional amendment, Supreme Justice John Paul Stevens said. "If there is to be a new procedure in which the president will play a different role in determining the text of what may become a law, such change must come not by legislation but through the amendment procedures set forth in Article V of the Constitution," Stevens said, on June 25th, 1998.
IF your special interest is SO valuable, why do you have to HIDE it in valuable legislation?
So, with them REFUSING to PASS the Line Item Veto, in reality, the House and Senate have REALLY been controlling the country!!
AND, with the CURRENT Senate and Congress having the WORST approval rating in HISTORY, hopefully we will see a LOT of changes after the general elections.
A recent Reuters poll is out and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have pulled an upset: They have managed to make George Walker Bush twice as popular as CONGRESS.
THIS WEEK - - Just 13% of Likely Voters now say the DEMOCRATICALLY CONTROLLED Congress is doing a good or excellent job. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 43% give Congress a poor rating.
Those results represent a slight decrease from last month, when 15% gave Congress a good or excellent rating.
Democrats generally believe in heavy fines for honest work, while rewarding sloth and indulgence.
Do YOU think that people should be able to do absolutely nothing productive and get government hand-outs for sloth and indulgence - healthcare, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, STDs, etc. ??
Do YOU want to have YOUR MONEY TAKEN from YOU and YOUR FAMILY to FINANCE these people ???

If I where a republican, I would vote for a democrat to let them ruin their own reputation. I honestly don't believe our next president will be re-elected and they will be too incompetent to straighten out Washington.
If it's McCain, then the republican party, which up until Obama vs. Hillary, could possibly begin to fade away, unless they revert to the GOP fundamentals that don't seem to have been absent the past decade, such as reducing big government.
The democrats, according to both the statistics and stocks (Intrade), have an advantage based on their false reputation of being better. If one is elected, then we will endure a leftist term in two branches, just like we did until '04 with the republicans. I'm hoping this happens because people will realize that democrats are not better than republicans, rather, bi-partisan politicians are better than the incompetent leaders and legislature who could care less about anyone else's opinion.
So my theory is that we will see either a third party candidate success in either '12 or '16, probably one in the middle of the spectrum. I think this why the Republican party ended up with candidates like McCain and Romney, who were former democrats, and Giuliani, who's sort of moderate.
I'd rather have a republican, but I'm voting democrat just to ruin their reputation.

YUP. He's done like dinner. I have heard many comments on Liberal news radio and such to the extent :
Who cares what his pastor says??
The fact of the matter is that if he was just Barack Obama, senator, no one would care. The President of the United States of America cannot have a wife who has just recently become proud of America, be affiliated with terrorist black leaders like farracon (SP), AND have his own minister be a hate filled bigot, who would make comments like "NOT GOD BLESS AMERICA, GOD DAMN AMERICA"
Tell me something, how many millions does this minister have stashed away??? America has made it possible for him to live the lifestyle only dreams are made of.
McCAIN all the way. There was never anyother choice.

It appears that Rev. Wright has killed it for Obama, but not for Clinton. Fortunately, Obama has the delegates right now and Clinton does not. But let's wait and see what happens over the next few days. Let's see how Obama responds. That will tell if it's all over for him.

This is why Hillary needs to Unite the party now as VP because there is almost no hope for a dream ticket and with it Goes the Democratic Party.
McCain wouldn't have to find a VP. He could choose Jeb Bush as his VP

Could you imagine another period with a Clinton?
