i think, it is wrong to the extent that religion comes in. because for the fact that, religion is the one who determine what is moral or what is not. take to consider that there is no religion, who then will dictate the norm? it is the people themselves. because it is the people who then suffers from the consequences of their own acts. therefore, for this argument, it is the people themselves who will answer if it is right or wrong.
the world of science, the scientists themselves, in their world, cloning is not wrong, because it is an advancement in man's craft.
the church would say, it is wrong because it is playing like god, only god can create, we do not have the right to be god. but isn't it that the church themselves calls us to be god-like? a very good man. funny in a way.
