Movies like "Black Christmas" but the original is the best, the remake is too gory. Any of the Asian movies or their recent remakes like The Grudge or The Eye or RingU.

Bone Collector, Kiss the Girls, Silence of the Lambs.

I suggest the 'Saw' films as they are not so much gorey. But still a little... Great Psychological Thriller!!
