NMC probably did us all in but there is a lot of great places to go. There is a new seafood place on M and if you are flying into National there is a Legal Seafood in the airport. My wife works fisheries conservation and loves Legal Seafood. I meet her there after she travels for a date. For 21 over look at Adams Morgan and U St corridor. To get to Adam's Morgan you would take the Red Line Metro to Woodley Park and head East across a bridge. The center of Adam's Morgan is a half mile.

U St from 19th to 15th St is a great area for Jazz, ethiopian food. I am not sure about Soul Food but Ben's Chilli Bowl is the oldest African American Restaurant in DC and just rocks! This part of U st is also near a metro line but I am not sure which one.

Depending on where you are staying consider a cab. The cabs run on zones so there are flat rates.

April should be nice, not hot but comfortable during the day and can be brisk at night.

Chart House has great seafood. It's right outside of dc in Old Town, Alexandria. And it's nice b/c it's on the water.

I like going to Phillips for seafood. There is also a club next to it, H20, it is on the water. Also try Love.
