    AREA:

    (7x12)+(10x4)+(9x12) = ?

    84 + 40 + 108 = 232 inches squared.

    PERIMETER:

    12+7+8+10+8+9+12+26 = ?

    = 92 inches.

    For perimeter,

    26 + 26 + 12 + 12 + 8 + 8 = 92"

For area, break it into 3 different shapes...

    (7 x 12) + (10 x 4) + (9 x 12) =84 + 40 + 108 = 232 in^2

Break it down into smaller squares & rectangles.

The left most is 7x12 rectangle

The long hallway type is 10x4 rect (you can get the length by adding 26 - (9+7) = 10; if total width is 12 and the other section is 8, then the left over is 4 giving me a 10x4.)

    The right most is 9x12

    Area : (7x12)+(10x4)+(9x12) = 108

    Peri : 2((7+12)+(10+4)+(9+12)) = 106
