ESD and computers?

I just read about ESD and now i'm worried about my computer. is it only necessary to wear these bracelets when you're touching the inside components of your computer, or are you also supposed to wear them when you're just using your computer, or listening to music on itunes, or things like that?

BTW, what is ESD and when are you supposed to be worried about it?

    ESD=Electrostatic Discharge

    You should only have to wear ESD protection equipment when you are working on exposed circuit boards or components that are used in circuit boards such as microchips.

    You are fine when you are just using the devices normally.

    ESD stands for Electrostatic Discharge, ESD is the release of static electricity when two objects come into contact.
