You should probubly go in a nd delete files that you don't use. Make sure you know what they are first. Also delete all cokkies, and any programs that you don't use. Again make sure you know what they are and have someone help you.

There are two kinds of memory in your computer. The hard drive is the biggest -- it holds all of your files, programs, and related material. (This assumes that you're not using external memory, too, such as an external drive or a Local Area Network.) The things on the hard disk stay there whether the PC is on or off. The other kind is Random Access Memory. As you need programs or files, they're read from the hard disk and put into RAM. The reason that you have RAM is to make the PC run faster; it takes less time to get a program or file from RAM than it does to get it from the hard disk. When you shut the PC down, the files in RAM get written back to the hard drive (if they've changed while you were using the PC). Once the PC is shut down, RAM effectively goes away. (It's still there, but it isn't in use.)

Sometimes, you need more RAM than your system has got. One way to get around this is for Windows to use part of your hard drive as a 'parking area' for the files that it wants to keep in RAM. The programs that are active (actually doing things) stay in RAM; the ones that aren't, or at least aren't AS active, get put into the parking area. When Windows says that it's increasing the virtual memory, what its actually doing is taking a piece of the hard drive's free space and using it to create that 'parking area'. When you shut down programs, or shut down the PC, that parking area goes away.

If you continually get this kind of error message, you might want to look into increasing the amount of RAM, but be aware, this is a moderately technical task -- you have to find out what kind to buy, and how much, then open the PC's case and put it into the memory slots. Its not terribly difficult, but it is something you want to do carefully.

well if such a message arises means many applications r running on startup or in background

so ram required would be more than what u really use

well the only solution to this problem is to increase the ram

or try to reduce number of applications that u run simultaneously

if u had specified the ram memory it would hv done better

you are running low on ram either cut down on the amount of programs you are using or go to the local geek shop and get some new ram.. if it is for a laptop get it installed.. if it is on a desktop.. just buy the ram and come back to this site and ask how to install it (very easy)

should run you between $40-60 for a 512 upgrade

what you need to do is clean out your cookies. go into my computer and press ctrl+f and search for all files and folders then type in "cookies". when your system finds the folder delete everything EXCEPT the "index" file. that should help the system.
