First, this is just an update, from a previous recall...

Great that someone thinks to keep people up to date, thank you

I can't make the link connection either but I am finding information about the new discovery.

A Las Vegas food import company, two Chinese businesses and the companies' top executives were indicted yesterday by a federal grand jury for their parts in a tainted pet food scandal last year that sickened or killed thousands of dogs and cats, the Justice Department said.

"We don't allege there that they knew that the wheat gluten was adulterated with the melamine,"

I cannot find a list but there is a lot of buzz on the legal ramifications.

Strangely missing from every news story I’ve tracked today is any mention of Wilbur-Ellis, a second U.S. firm that imported some of the contaminated, mislabled protein concentrate that found its way into pet food. They weren’t indicted, which in and of itself I’d think deserves a mention, if not some questions. This story may have another chapter.

Good post, I am sure we will all be watching for further news.

When dog food is recalled for Salmonella it's more for the protection of the humans handling the food that for the safety of the dog. Dogs can safely ingest salmonella....it's when humans handle the food and then don't immediately wash their hands that there can be a problem. I also feed Raw so I'm sure my dogs ingest salmonella regularly, which makes this recall not all that alarming since you should always wash your hands after handling dog food whether you are feeding kibble or raw.

Oh my, how scary! I need email my parents this list as they are the ones that have been taking care of my dogs for a while now. I'm not sure what they feed them. I hope it's none of the recalled food.

    Thank you for posting this!

That list is from the spring 2007 recall, it's not a new recall.

The only thing new this year is a news update:

    http://www.fda.gov /bbs/topics/NEWS/2008 /NEW01792.html

(Remove the spaces after ".gov" and "2008")

Here's the entire list of updates:

    http://www.fda.gov /oc/opacom/hottopics /petfood.html

(Remove the spaces after ".gov" and "hottopics")

    No new recalled foods.

It's just the legal stuff from last year's recall is finally coming around.

It is the recall from last year, no new recalls have been made, thank goodness...

I went to AKC website, and nothing posted and they were the first to post last year as soon as they got the list..

I checked ot the other web site and it is from 2007.....

but hey, thanks, made us all check it out to be on the safe side, you never know.......

    thanks again......

and the pet food recall last year began with canned dog food and then the dry was pulled for precautions.......

I don't feed canned dog food, I boil chicken and roast beefs, and chopped up and put in with their food each day.

    no canned stuff here......

No I didn't and Thank you for posting this. I feed Blue Buffalo but fortunately it's the canned food and biscuit treats and not my actual food!

The complete web site (take out the spaces)

    EDIT:

This is one more good reason to convince my hubby to switch to raw or barf!!
