Pronunciation of Swedish Ä as in Är?
I've been told like a in hat, or simply like ah. But how exactly is that said with an r sound following? Does Swedish Är (And) sound like English Air?
Oh yeah, I knew that, I just wrote in such a rush I forgot.

It sounds like the "e" in "bed".
By the way, "är" in Swedish means "is" or "are". "And" is "och".Source(s): IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet)

If you do a mixture of the "a" in army and the "e" in bed it works out to the right sound, roughly. :)

I always thought it was like the a in "army". Yet, I could be wrong.
