Ok. There are 5 positions in the game of basketball. 1, is the point guard, he or she dribbles up the ball, and figures out who to pass to. Than there is the shooting guard, (pretty self explanitory.) There's the the small forward who does a little bit of everything: shoots, drives, rebounds ect. Then theres power forward who rebounds shoots ect. The center takes jumpball plus the stuff the PF does. The positions can change depending on the player's abbility. A starter is somebody who plays in the first quarter in a game.

    Good Luck!

Rebound= if someone misses a shot you get the ball

Drives= if someone has the ball and dribbles all the way to the basket and shoots

A starter starts the game. They're the best.

There are two guards, two forwards, and a center.

The center is the biggest, and plays in the middle.

The forwards play near the basket, on the right and left.

The guards are smaller, and play farther away from the basket. The guards are the ones who bring the ball down.

A basketball starter is someone who is selected to play in the beginning of a game. They play as one of the five traditional basketball positions.

PG- "The Floor General", the point guard is the one who sets up plays his/her for teammates to score points, also. He/She is also usually the one who brings the ball from the half-court to the other side of the court.

SG- A shooting guard's main objective is to score points for their team.

SF-"The Most Versatile Position in Basketball", Small forwards are primarily responsible for scoring points and also often as secondary or tertiary rebounders behind the power forwards and centers.

PF- "The Dirty Worker", the Power Forward's primary role is to grab rebounds and to defend the inside scoring areas much like the Center.

C- the Center's primary role is to use his or her size to score and defend from a position close to the basket. A Center who possesses size along with athleticism and skill constitutes an unparalleled asset for a team. The Centers are also generally the players who are chosen to take jump balls.

The starters on a basketball team are usually the best players at those positions on the team, or the best match-ups.
