does anybody know what the max length of a knife can be in ohio? its a survival knife

    "There's no specific length rule in Ohio, either by statute nor by case law. You're generally OK in Ohio carrying any folding knife of reasonable length, even concealed, as long as you don't use it as a weapon. Once you use it as a weapon, then it is a "weapon." Even a baseball bat, carried under a long coat will be a concealed weapon, if it is actually used as a weapon."

    "Either way, I doubt the cops here would hold me overnight for a folder. Especially since I stay away from iffy things...assisted openings, serrations, switchblades, double-edged blades, fixed blades (For daily carry at least) etc. I did ask people at the police station to clarify the laws somewhat, and they said that any concealed knife could present a problem. I use the pocket clips on my knife so they are visible, and all my EDC blades are under 3.5 inches. I feel I'm reasonable with my knife selection, hopefully any cops who inspect them will agree."
