In practice or ideally?
A leader of the United States of America must deeply understand that the reason We The People created the Constitution which creates government which hires bureocrats and servants of the public, is to do the stuff in the preamble to that great document. For those who have never read it, here it is:
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
Seems simple enough doesn't it? So a President must understand that s/he works for us (U.S.), The People, and is supposed to be doing stuff for us, not the international socialists, not whatever political party s/he belongs to, not the banks or corporations, not any religious group.
When I see a Presidential candidate who convinces me they really get that, they've got my vote no matter what party/gender/race/religion they happen to be.

He's too old and his cheekbones are way too large. Ron Paul FTW.
