The Pentagon are ready to face a WMD attack in the States..hmm..what do you think?

maybe we should be more than ever ready to face any kinds of natural disasters that frequently 'attack' this country..such as hurricane, tornado, floods..and so on..don't you think?

Have to be ready for both. There sure are some typical answers from obvious sources on this topic. The U.S. is not using WMD's on any defenseless civilians, but it's obvious by the ignorance and hate exhibited by some that we certainly need to protect against terrorist attacks. Natural disasters can't be stopped and are a completely different subject.

I should hope so, I think all countries deserve the right to protect themselves from an attack.

Natural disasters are a lot trickier, what if an earthquake hit, how can one prepare for that. But in the case of Hurricane Katrina, they should have evacuated everyone quickly.

Also how many hostile nations really have WMD, that can reach the U.S.

Only a handful like China, N.Korea and Russia.

Maybe the Pentagon should worry about the way they use WMD on other civilian areas throughout the world and also convict those who are responsible for usch an act.

There is no catch all. You prepare the best you can. Some things cannot be prepared for or anticipated. Ground zero of a nuclear attack is always a bad place to be. Don't worry. All appropriate precautions are being taken. Not everyone can be saved, but not everyone will die either.

I would call armies and hired mercenaries the quintessential weapons of mass destruction, not to mention the Total Information Awareness system to spy on citizens. As to the report, any protection has been bought with an almost mind-boggling forfeiture of what used to be constitutionally guaranteed civil rights. We won't even get into how it's being financed, but I'm sure you can easily imagine who will finance the billions/trillions of debt over the next few generations.

remember wmd's or weapons of mass destruction do not have to be nukes! chemical and biological agents have killed more people to date than nukes. look at the stupid question about wmd's in Iraq-- people say they did not have them, thats not true saddam had(and there is in all pobability more) wmd's he gassed more that 200,000 people in one area, over a weekends time. he even had people dumping 55 gallon barrels of the crap on his own people(from helicopters) in addition to chemical bombs. the nukes are there it may take years to find them, all the workers were killed by saddam. you dont need bombs to have wmd's!! look at anthrax dont you think that will kill millions what about bird flu what if somebody purposely spread that here. shouldnt we take all precautions. if anthrax or plague does hit its too late to try and stop it we can only wait and see who survives!
