Hardrive and blown motherboard?

Recently when going to hookup usb wire my monitor screen went black. I tried to restarted, but nothing was happening on the screen, but I could hear all of the fans and hardrives start. Anyway I have a warrenty company to come out and replace my exact motherboard and Video card. What I wanted to know was should my Hardrive data be ok because I don't have the re-install cd and I would need to order that. I hope this isn't the case because that would be really bad.

Unless the hard drive was damaged during the initial surge when you overloaded your power system, it should boot up like nothing happened.

Yes, it will probably work fine, provided it is the exact same motherboard they replace.

You need to buy another hard drive for about $80......good luck
