    Leonidas.

    The Spartan warriors had only one purpose in life...to kill. Oh, and to father new warriors.

    By the period in which "Gladiator" took place, Roman generals were little more than provicial governors trying to prop up the rotting remains of the decaying Roman Empire. Leonidas would've gutted Maximus within ten seconds.

    Leonidas would win because he was a master strategist, and if you read through history, when greatness faces off against greatness, the best physical and psychological strategy always wins.
