How often should you change a cat's collar?
My cats have had the same collars for awhile now. They don't look really bad or anything but I'm wondering if there's a certain time frame to get them new ones?

It's better if they don't wear collars as they can get caught and be hazardous. But if you prefer them to wear it, make sure that it is the break-away type. Check to see if it is too tight as your cat grows. Also make sure that the underside is not dirty or rough as this can cause irritation leading to infection. Hope this answers your question.

Not unless it's too small or irritating to them. I recommened the cat collars that have a small break in them where they stretch larger if pulled on. This is much safer for cats, especially outdoor ones, so that they don't get catch on something and choke.

Perhaps if you are tired of the collar, the color, or the width isn't pleasing to you. Definitely change the collar if it's not the breakaway type. Even all indoor cats need a collar in case they escape, you have a better chance of getting your pet returned to you.

unless your cats go outside, i don't recommend putting collars on them, why.... they don't need them if they are indoor cats, and if they go out, be sure and have a break away collar, check to be sure you can get 2 fingers under the collar, and its not to tight

the only time you have to change the collar is when:
-it looks ratty
-it's too small
-or it gets irritating to your kitty

Only if it's getting too small for him.

never unless it becomes to small or tight around their neck.
