Whats the Empirical formula for magnesium nitride?
Whats the Empirical formula for magnesium nitride
So why do we get this formula from the two compounds?

Magnesium Nitride is Mg3N2 (That is the molecular formula and it would also be the empirical formula).
"Empirical Formula" gives the "relative" number of atoms in a molecule. For example, glucose has a molecular formula of C6H12O6; the "empirical formula" would be CH2O (the relative number of each atom in the molecular formula.)
It is called an "empirical" formula because it is derived from experimental data.
