Magnesium Nitride is Mg3N2 (That is the molecular formula and it would also be the empirical formula).

"Empirical Formula" gives the "relative" number of atoms in a molecule. For example, glucose has a molecular formula of C6H12O6; the "empirical formula" would be CH2O (the relative number of each atom in the molecular formula.)

It is called an "empirical" formula because it is derived from experimental data.
