It's on the keypad next to / and above 7

Edit: didn't know u were talking about a laptop. It should be one of the F1-F12 keys. The only difference is that you probably have to hit the FN button while hitting the F Keys.

    The pictures did not work...

If you look at your keyboard you will notice that some of the keys have extra uses. The extra uses are usually blue colored. You can access those other uses by first hitting your "function" key then hitting the desired key.

On a gateway laptop, the function key is labeled as "FC" and the scroll lock is a tiny picture of a lock in blue.

We have a PC here and its above the 7 and to the left of the / but we also have a lap top and as it does not have the numbers key pad to the right as the pc has I dont believe it has such a key as the numbers lock it certainly does not have it written on any of the keys. [I have just looked]

Usually, on laptops, you'll see the words 'num lock' in blue. Anything written in blue on the keyboard is activated by holding down the 'Fn' button and pressing the button that says num lock.

If it's like my Toshiba, you need to press FN and then the key with the blue lock and 1.
