I have bought some 'Nita Seed'' from a Chinese supermarket, but don't know what to do with it? X

I just wanted to try something different, when I search on the net all I can find are recipes from a woman called 'Nita' Can anyone please help? Thanks. X
Update: Thanx for the in-depth answer on star anise, but it is definately Nita Seed, it's not dry, but like a fresh green capsule! Hope someone else can help.X
