US views on Australia?

Whats the general concensus in the US regarding Australia?

Im just wondering what Americans see Australia as. ie: In respect to lifestyle, geography, living standards etc

    Australia is much like the US was in 1970. As a result, many older Americans look on Australia with a good deal of nostalgia. A slower lifestyle, friendly people, and prosperity all make Australia very attractive.

    In my experience, Australians look up to the US as an economic powerhouse and world leader. They know that American healthcare is meant to be bad, but the average Australian is not aware of how weak the US social safety net is, nor do they know how little vacation time we get.
