    7x+12=13x

    get the like terms on the same side. you can combine the 7x and 13x, but the 12 is by itself. so, make it that way. I subtracted the 7x from both sides, b/c it cancels out the 7x on the left, and is 13-7 on the right

    12=6x

    2=x

    Move the elements with X on one side:

    13x-7x=12

    6x=12

    x=12/6

    x=2

    7x + 12 = 13x

    put the x's together by subtracting 7x on both sides.

    12 = 6x

    divide both sides by 6 to isolate x

    x=2

    12=6x

    x=2

    I subtracted 7x from both sides and then divided by 6.

    Hope that helps :)
