How about The Slaughterhouse cases (1873). Its about butchers in New Orleans and its when the Supreme Court decided that the privileges and immunities clause in the 14th amendment did not mean that the bill of rights applied to the states--meaning that states could violate the bill of rights.

Also Marbury v. Madison (1803). This is the decision that allowed the Supreme Court to exercise judicial review over state courts.

Try National Labor Relations Board v. Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation. Look in wikipedia under Commerce Clause, New Deal. In that same entry (Commerce Clause) under Civil Rights, see Katzenbach v. McClung.
