How do I remove orange/tan boot background in Ubuntu?

I have installed Ubuntu (Gutsy Gibbon) and have the desktop and GDM login screen with nice dark themes but in between the login and the desktop loading the screen is the standard Ubuntu pink/orange/tan color and it really bugs me. How do I change the color of that background?

sudo gedit /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default

Change BACKCOLOR="#dab082" to whatever you want.

For black BACKCOLOR="#000000"
