strength of materials- lab report

plz define young's modulus, 0.1% proof stress, tensile strength, percentage elongation and percentage reduction of area after fracture.

    Young's modulus - The ratio of stress to strain on the loading plane along the loading direction.

    0.1% proof stress - The stress that will cause a permanent extension of 0.1 % of a tensile test piece.

    Tensile Strength - The tensile strength of a material is the maximum amount of tensile stress that it can be subjected to before failure.

    Percentage elongation - The elongation of the test specimen expressed as a percentage of the gage length.

    Reduction of Area is expressed as a precentage and is given by:-

    Percentage Reduction of Area (%) = 100 (Ao - Af)/Ao

    where

    Ao is the orginal cross-sectional area

    Af is the cross-sectional after fracture
