# Explain the kill to death ratio?

I play Call of duty and my ratio is 1.9 not really getting it...care to explain?

Update:

but the only thing that doesn't make sense is a have 7,534 kills and 4,345 deaths?

Relevance

for every 1 of your lives, you kill almost 2 people. it takes the overall number of bad guys you've killed divided by the overall number of "lives" it's taken you up to that point. it's not a whole number because it's taking totals and averaging them.

say you killed 15 guys over 4 lives. 15 divided by 4 is 3.75, which would be your kill to death ratio, meaning that on average, you killed almost 4 guys during each of your "lives"

kill = people you've killed

death = times your character has died

kills divided by deaths is the ratio

if you want to increase it, simply kill more people during each of your lives. the higher the better.

How many kills: How many deaths

1:9 means you need to get better. :p

Mess around with different guns, find one that works for you. I suggest staying away from light machine guns. They are very powerful, but horribly inaccurate. Try a gun like the AK-47 or the M4 Carbine with a perk like stopping power or double tap. Or, if you're level 40, use the P90. Good luck!
