Barrow is the borough seat of the North Slope Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. Barrow is the northernmost settlement on the North American mainland and in the United States, and one of the northernmost towns of more than 2,000 residents in the world (see Khatanga, Tiksi, Hammerfest). Nearby Point Barrow is the northernmost point of the United States (see Extreme points of the United States and Northernmost settlements.) The 2006 Alaska Division of Commerce, Community & Economic Development estimate for the population of the city was 4,065

Barrow is the only city in the North Slope Borough with a sewer system. That seems pretty important if you don't want to pay somebody to suck the crap out of your cesspool.

    OK

    According to Wikipedia:

Barrow is the northernmost settlement on the North American mainland and in the United States, and one of the northernmost towns of more than 2,000 residents in the world.

So I think it is important since it is the northernmost town (with more than 2000 people) in the world.

    Hope that helps.
