How will America pay for it's infrastructure & Defense without generating revenue? Firstly by cutting wasteful government spending, particularly overseas. He will also rid the US of the great Federal Reserve SCAM, the unamerican IRS and many other parasitic agencies which belong only in a totalitarian, fascist police-state.

Instead of paying money to destroy things overseas and rebuild them again afterwards, perhaps focusing on America will provide a stronger infrastructure & defence than any other candidate could possibly offer!

How much money has been wasted on the Iraq war so far..? Nobody (well none of us 'common-folk') knows the exact cost, however a Nobel prize-winning economist and a Harvard budget expert, predicts it will cost taxpayers over $2 TRILLION.

...and other candidates want to focus on Iran!!! WTF!? With a $9 trillion+ national debt, that will make the US economy collapse, causing untold misery upon thousands if not MILLIONS of citizens.

Income tax only accounts for one part of our government's revenue; it has many other sources of income. By slimming down the federal government by removing a lot of unneeded bureaucracy you eliminate the need for it all together. The federal government has become a bloated inefficient machine over the years and needs to be reformed. As was said earlier, there was no need for an income tax for the majority of this country's history, why do we all of a sudden need one so badly?

And you are clearly either very poor / still live with your parents (don't pay taxes) or you don't look at your pay check / do your own taxes (have no idea how much you pay towards taxes). I am certainly not rich, just an average middle income American, and the federal government takes a lot more than just $2k a year from me. The median income tax bracket (the tax bracket most Americans are in) is 25%!!! Before President Bush's tax cuts it was 28%!!! That's downright quasi-socialist. Now do a little math and tell me how much you'd have to make to pay less than $2k a year in income taxes.

How did the USA manage to survive from 1788 to 1913 without ever having an income tax?! The income tax wasn't created until 1913 even though we had been doing just fine! There are plenty of other taxes and sources of revenue for our government. The income tax is used to pay the interest on 9 trillion dollars of racked up national debt. State, local, and gas taxes pay for infrastructure. Don't be so gullible.

When you trim the fat off a steak, your still left with a steak right ?

trimming government down to an appropriate size would easily accomplish this feat......income tax's dont go for infrastucture and therefore could be eliminated if our government were operating this country more efficiently.

Income tax doesn't fun anything is this country. The other taxes you pay do, not income tax. Plus there is actually no law on the books saying you have to pay it.

well first off, Paul isn't the only republican candidate that has latched on to this idea. He is advocating the Fair Tax. So is Huckabee, and Giuliani and Romney have stated they are open to the idea. The revenue would be raised by a 23% national sales tax, and it would raise every dollar the income tax is now, if not more. go to http://www.fairtax.org and see for yourself, do a little research before you bash the idea.

Ron Paul is all talk, I'm sure that what he tells his prospective voters is truly what he would like to see happen in the USA. The problem is he can not just make these decisions on his own, and I just don't see this plan getting approval. Please reconsider your vote if you think he can come in and redefine the country, because it won't happen. Quite frankly I wonder who in the world would want to be his Vice President. I really don't think he will get that far anyway.

Wow. You're truly misinformed, my friend. Do some research before posting your unintelligable ramblings on here, okay?

    BTW, it's spelled "gullible", hon.
