I know how frustrated you must be. My rottie has ear infections and I am trying to get them under control. At first he was getting them everytime he was groomed, so I figured it was from not getting them dry. But it keeps reoccuring. We are thinking it might be a food allergy. The predisone makes me a grumpy boy, and I will never put him on it ever
again. He was even on a low dose of it. We have tried so many cleaners, and ointments with him too.
I changed from Innova to California Natural herring and sweet potato. I had to get away from every ingredient that was in the Innova. He will be on the same brand of food for 90 days to see if it makes a difference.
I know its expensive, but I would have him allergy tested and see what he could be allergic too. I haven't done it yet, since I am not working right now. With all the vet visits you have done, would have paid for the testing and the medications.
A friend of mine has large dogs and one will get the yucky ears and when she changed to a certain food, it did wonders for his ears. It could be alot of things in food. One of her dogs, if the food had flax seed in it, it would start biting the fur off himself. She had to go really basic.
I stay away from : Corn, wheat, soy, by products, sorgum.
Did the vet put you on ZD. That stuff was $65 a bag. It had chicken in it, and that was in his Innova, so I just did alot of reading on dog food to find one that I liked. California natural is by the same company as Innova. It's for dogs with allergies. Work with your vet.
