where in the southwest is a city with a good job market?

We currently live in Alabama and have seen a drastic reduction in jobs, with many of our companies closing. After the 4th large company I've worked for closed we are ready to try somewhere new.

Update:

Thanks for the answer about tucson Az. We found alot of jobs there online. We are looking to go in a couple of weeks. thanks so much

I don't know if you consider southern California the southwest, but the San Bernardino/Riverside area of CA has a great job engine.

Both Phoenix and Tucson continue in the top 20 for job growth in 2007.

Las Vegas has been booming, but the very deep real estate crisis in the area will really hurt the economy and job market. I'd stay away.

The Provo-Orem and Salt Lake City areas of Utah have solid job growth, as does Albuquerque, NM.

Oddly enough, the Ocala, FL area leads the nation in job growth in 2007, and Florida and NC continue to be strong, despite real estate crises similar to Las Vegas.
