Which software is best for converting DVDs to iTunes?

Question

I had just installed the software Handbrake, which supposedly converts your DVDs to something you can put in iTunes and later upload on your iPod. But it's sort of confusing and I don't understand how to use it.

Can someone give me easy-to-understand software in which I can convert my DVDs to something iTunes can understand?

Or, can you give me a sort of software and give me directions on how to use it?
