Yeah, I've noticed that. Could it be that no one what's to waste their time and energy on a counterfeit?
EDIT: To 和平女孩 and others.
Certain religions simply do not work this way. Let's look at the Quakers, or the Amish, who neither proselytize nor believe in violence. On the other hand, the exact same kind of extremist behavior as you are accusing religion of comes from strongly held beliefs of other natures, for example the political ideology of the Nazis.
History shows, thoroughly, that man does not need to adopt a religion to take a cause way too far (like racial purity). While prejudice, persecution, and racial hatred follow directly from the application of evolutionary teaching, some have even proposed racism in the name of Christianity. The Christian must not allow himself or herself to think this way. The Lord Jesus certainly didn't. He was likely neither white nor black, but somewhere in between. He died to provide all men the opportunity for eternal life (II Peter 3:9, for example). Indeed, heaven will be populated by "a great multitude . . .of all nations, and kind reds, and people, and tongues (who will) stand before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes" (Revelation 7:9), all redeemed by His blood. In the end, all racism, as well as racial distinctions, will be abolished.
The real problem is that people often do not fully know what it is that he follows, even though he has bound himself to it. (A bit like marrying the wrong person, if you think about it.) The lesson is: God made the brain -- use it! Study always whatever it is that you've committed yourself to; don't blindly accept it.
Jesus tells us in John 16:2,3 that there will be some who, in their error, commit atrocities and murder in the name of God: "The time is coming that whosoever kills you will think that he does God service." However, He informs us that these are not true believers: "And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me." (See also 1 John 3:15.)
Jesus told His followers to love their enemies. So if a man puts a knife into someone’s back in the name of Christianity, something obviously isn’t right. If we human beings can detect it, how much more will God? He will deal with it on Judgment Day.
Humanity is what is at fault here, not
