How do I put music on an Ipod or Mp3 player?

I am 54 and like the idea that they are so small. I have dropped and broken many radios and cassette players at work, but music makes the time go by so fast I want to try something new. I just don't understand how to get the music from point a to the ipod or mp3, which ever I end up buying.

When you buy an iPod, it comes with software iTune for you to transfer MP3 files from your computer to the iPod. But you have to convert your music from CD's to MP3 files in the hard drive of your computer. Start iTune and insert the CD in a compact disk drive. Once you get your CD collection converted to MP3 files, connect the iPod through a USB port, and all MP3 will be copied to your iPod.

There is a cheaper alternative to iPod. The software iTune can be downloaded for free. Once you get your CD collection converted to MP3 files, you can burn all the files onto a CDR disc. The go to Best Buy and buy a bloombox that can play MP3 files. The RCA bloombox I bought can do random play. It costed me less than $50.

Well, you need to use a PC for the iPod. First, subscribe to iTunes (don't worry, it's free.) They ask for a credit card # because it allows you to purchase music. Next, you plug the USB cable from the iPod to the computer, or plug the iPod directly into the port. Restart your computer, open up iTunes, and you are ready to rock! For an mP3 player, it is just the same routine, only it is done with a music server of your choise. Good luck! If you still don't get it, go to www.apple.com/support/ipod

It hooks up to your computer, usually though a USB cable. So you have to also have your music on computer. It doesn't take long to rip CDs to MP3 format though.

Ipod is an MP3 player - the music format is stored as MP3 on all the little gizmos.

    Its basically two methods

standard MP3s are just dragging the songs you want onto your MP3 player.

Ipods and such use a program which lets you select which songs to add, kind of easier
