    An organ.

Tissues make up an organ. Many organs make up an organ system. Your tongue is more than a tissue--it's definitely an organ--and it could be considered an organ in the digestive system. By itself, the tongue does not constitute an organ system.

A tissue, because the cells take on osmosis and return to the proper state in the nervous system and never turn back into the organ system
