Will I be able to play a DVD movie on my EEE PC that I am having shipped to me?

this great little laptop does not come with a drive for cd's or dvd's, but there are alternatives. You could get an external drive, although these are quite expensive. You could get a cable to attach a removed internal drive, or you could just copy the files to divx, xvid or mp4 format on another computer and put that on a usb flash drive or an sd or sdhc card, as this pc has a slot for these cards. These files can then be played by the video software that is already on there, which apparently works very well!

It depends on two things:

1) Does the computer come with a DVD burner/player.

2) If it does, did the computer manufacturer include a DVD decoder?
