How can you fix a stereo speaker that is going out?

One of my speakers is slowly going out I think. Sometimes it only picks up loud parts of songs or just when some bass starts, other times it goes out completely.

Could it be the wire connecting it to the stereo?

Can this be fixed? If so, how?

its likely you have a bad connection try the wiring and ports that connect to the speaker, try hooking up a different speaker to the same wires to see if you have the same problem if not you might have to take the speaker apart and replace the wires inside, if that doesnt help new speakers might be in order
