Christians, what is your interpretation of Matthew 10:28?

(in context, please)

Matthew 10:28 (KJV)

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Exactly what it says: To respect God more becuase He can destroy both body and spirit; while man can only destroy the body but not the spirit.

    -- King James

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Humans can kill the body, but cannot affect the soul. Only God can destroy your soul, therefore, fear God, not man.

Satan is a created being and cannot destroy your soul. Your soul lives forever, where it spends eternity is up to you.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

This is talking about how on earth, we shall not fear of those who can kill our body. But Satan, he can kill our body and our soul. And without our soul, we are nothing. It is our eternal peril if we fall into Hell.

Accept Jesus as your savior, repent, cleanse your soul. He is the only path to Heaven. There is more after death, dont regret it.

Beware of Satan and steer clear of him. Fear God more than man. There are two deaths, physical and spiritual. We all must pass through physical death, but that was overcome freely by Jesus Christ through the resurrection. However, spiritual death means not being in the presence of God. If we follow Satan by not following God, or fear man more than God, we will lose our opportunity to live with God again.

We should not fear those who threaten us with death because they want us to break one of God's laws.

They may kill us, but God has the power to resurrect us.

Breaking God's laws is disobeying the one who has the means to restore life, if you do that then you're putting yourself in line for eternal destruction.

Don't worry about people who would kill you for your beliefs, but rather the Devil, who would kill your soul if you didn't.

i see it like body is body and you still have a soul, so no worries right?

but worry if you don't have none left in hell

Jesus tells his disciples to evangelize, and not to fear the persecution that may come of it.
