What is an example of symbolism in the novel, Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer?
I'm supposed to find 3 examples of irony, foreshadowing and symbolism, and I just need 1 more for symbolism.

Well it wasn't a work of fiction so I wouldn't call it a novel. I guess on a deeper level our lives are full of irony, foreshadowing and symbolism. But you should really choose a novel where all this stuff is crafted art and not a work of non fiction, do you really wanna be that judgmental. Krakauer wasn't.
