maple syrup v. maple flavoring?
I have a recipe that calls for maple flavoring, but I can't find any. Can I use maple syrup instead? What would the conversion be? Thanks!
Do I need to change the amount (ie add more syrup if it's not as strong as the flavoring)?

If you use 1 tsp of Maple Syrup instead of 1 tsp maple flavouring, you will have very little maple flavour. Instead, substitute some of the sweetener called for in the recipe with Maple Syrup. The darker the syrup, the more intense the flavour (and the more expensive) so I'm not sure what ratio to suggest.
