I like Fords and would say it is best... but look at it like this, (and I do have a Chevy Silverado) if you want to do any work on it yourself when needed, get the Chevy. Fords are hard for a person to work on and a lot of parts are dealer parts only. The Chevy will rust out before the Ford so that is a plus for the Ford. Since I have had Ford and Chevy, I do like both, but still like the Fords, but am sure you would be happy with either.

You should buy a 2006 Chevy Silverado instead of a 2006 Ford F-150.

Car and Driver magazine has voted the Chevy Silverado the best pick up 5 years in a row. 2002-2007.

It has more towing capacity, more speed, and better gas mileage.

Go for the F150. You can't beat the best selling truck from the company who has beat every company (except Honda) in quality and reliability scores.

I've owned 3 F-150's (1995, 1999 which got totaled, 2007) and I've never had a problem with any of them, and never had them into the shop for anything else but getting new tires.

    these people... jeeeeees.

the F150 is twice the truck. silverados have weaker frames, they have many many more weaknesses compared to the F150, but should i even need to mention another? isn't the strength of the frame, the backbone of all truck jobs, enough to decide on? or how about the F150 is the best selling truck 30 years running

I always heard that Chevy is good for comfort, gas mileage, and good towing. Ford is more for power and towing. I have rode in both and i presonally think that the Chevy is way better. Its quiet, smooth, and gets nice fuel mileage for a full size truck. I also had my fiar rides in fords which are very nice to. I think its more for personal prefrence and what you want to use it for. My advice is go test drive botha nd make your own desicion.Good Luck!!

Do not feel sorry for a car salesman. They are trained to lead you around hoping to score even more of your money and take you to the cleaners with long term payments. Car sales is a legal scam. Buy the one that appeals to you. Remember you are paying for the miles you will travel. Base your selection on installed equipment and bottom line price. Remember the way of auto financing--you pay all t he loan interest up front the first twenty or so payments and the balance of the note after wards. You get screwed. This is because most of us trade vehicles every two or three years and they want the free money first.

it still depends on what you wish to do with it. personally i would pick the gm over the ford if both had the v6 engines,

however if v8's are involved i would go with the ford period

gm's latest and not so greatest v8's are only shadows as compared to g.m"s. old small block. plus the new gm engines are no dryer [ leaks oil, coolant] then their old engines

not to mention the gimmicky dash controls and crappy upholstery. hey it's a truck not a pimp-mobile. one last note:

while both have technical service bulletins the gm has more, a whole lot more pages and pages more [go to one of these auto parts stores that has "ALL DATA" and check it out for yourself]

go for the chevy, even though american cars are not bought for the long run. if u want a truck that will last, get the tundra.
