Why do liberals want to change things for the better while conservatives want to regress or stagnate?

That's the whole idea of the conservative movement. It's mainly older people who want to apply ancient philosophies to the 21st century way of life. They want to ignore all of the scientific findings that disprove their ignorance because it will force society to change. The population has doubled since most of these people were born and the same rules of society don't apply any more. Liberals care about the truth and evaluate the best way for a society to survive. A conservative doesn't give a **** about anyone and subscribes to the "end justifies the means" philosophy. As long they're not inconvenienced they could care less who is affected or hurt in the process. Most Cons would change their stance if they were ever on the receiving end of their policies. There's a reason most people that convert are converting towards a more liberal way of thinking. Not the other way. That's why the Cons are losing and have always lost when it comes to change. They only hurt society by putting up road blocks.

it somewhat isn't any longer political grievance; it somewhat is only call-calling. when I pay attention communicate like that I ask human beings what harm will come from which rules. commonly, people who're politically conscious can get all the way down to the concrete subject concerns (pulling out of Iraq would be undesirable by using fact .... or what have you ever.) people who won't be able to articulate why "socialist" scientific care is undesirable have not finished sufficient thinking to be depended on. Making (or combating) genuine substitute in society demands lots greater effective than only knee-jerk reactions to labels like "capitalist" or "liberal".

  • Liberals have always, in every society, dragged the conservatives into a future they, the cons, eventually embrace. Conservatives of 1907 would see the conservatives of 2007 as liberals.

    What?

"Change things for the better" is the public punchline for both parties pushing anything. From unconstitutional security measures, to unconstitutional social involvement.

Will a politician ever tell you "We are here to make things worse" while pushing some political action?

Its JUST like both democrats and neocons saying "Im for smaller government" or "we need to cut government spending", or saying ANYTHING containing the word constitution, or constitutional.

    Yes.

Becoming another North Korea would certainly be considered "change for the better" by liberals.

Socialism is the Goal of Liberals and many Democrats.

Because these jerk republicans are nothing but a bunch of obstructionists. They all voted today to make waterboarding legal. Its' been illegal for the last 75 years. Maybe they should get a taste of their own medicine. Where do I sign up???

It is conjecture and opinion, not fact, that the changes leftists want will make things better.

And it certainly is unproven that many of the "liberal" cause celebres have made anything better at all.

Because rhetorical questions like your get on our nerves. The only thing we can think of is sending you and Liberals that agree with you to Gitmo so you can be horsewhipped.

Both parties want things for the better. Just a matter of who for.

You're obviously looking up the word conservative in Webster's dictionary. Know what you're talking about before posting a question that shows you're ignorance.
