What happens when energy prices are kept artificially low?

    It benefits all citizens equally, but the burden finally falls on the tax-payers who pay for non-taxpayers.

    It hinders development of aklternate sources of energy which could have been cheaper compared to real prices of energy.

    The development of energy companies suffer as they have to subsidise the energy under government pressure only part of which is borne by the government.
