Cumulonimbus is a massive cloud system with the top of the clouds flattened at the base of the stratosphere. The source of heavy localized rain, lightning and thunders, and hail.

Another one is Nimbostratus, its a widespread thick layer of dark gray cloud producing steady/heavy rain.

The Cumulonimbus produces rain in a local area. While the Nimbostratus is widespread.
