Better hydration?

I drink alot of soda and I am trying to cut back..too much sugar....feel yuck.....but I have been so spoiled with flavor that water won't cut it. Is tea a good substitue? I hear that the caffeine dehydrates you but how does that work? Is it any better with switching to tea? What about the sweetened teas?
Update: yeah...milk...uhmmm...nah....something easy.

Choices are:
juice (it gets mixed in there)
crystal light packet thingys (artificial sweetners bad?)
herbal teas
