Outlook Web Access -- is there a way to change curly quotes to straight quotes?

When my emails are received on the other end, they come out as a odd symbol (a large O with a tilda mark at the top.)

How do I prevent that? Can formatting be changed?

Usually that means that you have a word processor set as the default for creating your e-mail rather then Outlook. (Usually it will be the Word progam itself.) You need to go into that program and turn off the "smart quotes" in the word processor (or Word), then they will no longer be used in the Outlook documents. In Word, that option is under Tools > Auto Corrections > Autocorrect As You Type.
