You must be in your early or mid twenties. One thing I can tell you is this is a learning experience. We never start out with the perfect man. It is up to us to look for him or change the one we have. I see two problems in you dilemma. One, he is a very superficial man. I understand you love him and want to be with him but don't forget who comes first. It's you by all means. A man who truly loves you, will be with you no matter what. If you need to loose weight its you prerogative. He has nothing to say in the matter. It is your body not his. I am sure you can find a million flaws on him that you wouldn't tell him.

Why, because unlike him you accept him as he is. About the money, if you are doing the bills you are within your right to question his budget. Unless he wants to keep everything separated and go half and half. He pays half of the bills and you pay the other. That can work too. But to finish up I ask you one question. 2 years and 6 months are plenty of time to see the true colors of a person. With age we gain weight and become less appealing do you think 10 years from knoww he will be with you? when now he is being so critical. Love yourself above all, never settle for seconds is the key you will kno what to do with that

First, you need to sit him down when the both of you have not been fighting or angry at each other (clear-headed). Second, explain to him how you want him to talk to you about his feelings. If he see's himself with you in the future. Tell him that you won't get mad at him or hold anything he says against you (and don't). Let him trust you, because he seems to be afraid to say certain things to you and hold to them because he does love you and does not want to hurt you. But, it sounds as if he is having an internal fight as to what do to (be with you or not). From what he tells you, you need to decide what is best for YOU and what will make YOU happy. I know, you are sitting there saying that he does---but he really doesn't if he doesn't see himself with you. The truth will hurt both of you...and it can also make the both of you closer than ever. Honesty, communication are the most important components of a relationship.

Dump him, you deserve better than what he says to you. This is what they call a toxic relationship, he will continue being this way and this will cause your self esteem to get lower and that may cause you to gain more weight which will make him even more unhappy, etc.. etc..

What do you have, a doormat on your back?? Kick him in the teeth the next time he talks down to you. Why do you put up with that??????

You realize that he's doing it on purpose, to bring you down and keep you in line.

Good lord lady. What are you doing still in that relationship. He's a fricken loser. Yes, you need to diet, get yourself in shape and look for someone else. Someone who will appreciate you. Your B/F needs a ho! Don't be one for him.

sounds like he's bi-polar... maybe suggest talking to someone? sounds like hes deffiently got unresolved issues as well!! and personally, is he didnt agree to that, i would leave him bc why would u want to be subjeccted to that? who cares if you gained 30 lbs. if you love yourself and your okay with yourself, than your good! and after 2 years, it shouldnt be about the looks!

realize he doesn't know what he wants.

and you might be pressuring him... why not just live your lives and let things develop?

if you are having problems as a couple, and can't communicate well, there are self-help books and/or couples counseling.

    take care.

If you are not married, you have no ties to this man. While there may be emotional ties, there are no legal ties. So, it's decision time. (Stay/Leave)
