It would be like saying..from the 'big city'. Sophisticated, classy, likes the finer things in life, etc.

Petula Clark had a hit with "Downtown!" That's where the lights and the action are. Uptown is residential. The word does not necessarily denote affluence, but it has come to be thought of in that way.

It doesn't usually relate to an actual town. Instead, it is used to describe someone who is classy, of high class, sophisticated, smart, snobbish, intelligent, etc. Basically, I am an "uptown" individual. :)

Bears vary greatly in size but the largest, the grizzly bear, is notoriously hard to kill in self-defense when it is attacking. It is protected by dense fur and thick layers of fat all over its body, and most handgun bullets simply cannot penetrate far enough. A shot to the head of an angry bear usually bounces off of its thick skull, and serves only to enrage it further. The only sure way to kill such a bear is to carry a gun with high caliber bullets propelled by magnum charges of gunpowder... "loaded for bear"... a veritable hand cannon... and then only aim for the area under the chin.
